Roger's Reviews
Post Rookie Draft — initial reaction, no performance data
Red N' Mellow steps to the podium with the third pick in the class and takes Carnell Tate — dead on consensus, not a hair out of place, the kind of pick that makes Roger feel nothing, which is somehow worse than feeling bad. Then, immediately, Dan reaches four slots for Antonio Williams at 2.03 — a receiver, naturally, because apparently the man's roster is a WR support group with a bye-week problem. The league office has concerns. However — and Roger is sober enough to acknowledge this — Ja'Kobi Lane falling sixteen slots into Dan's lap at 4.03 is the kind of gift that makes you wonder what the other eleven owners were looking at, and the answer is probably not their draft boards. Three picks, all receivers, one steal, one reach, zero running backs, and a B — which is exactly the grade you give a Packers fan who did fine but will absolutely find a way to make it mediocre by October.
